Immigration Panel Physicians in Markham

Many newcomers to Canada consider Toronto their prime destination. Yet, just northeast of Toronto, Markham has all the comforts of a small town with all the conveniences of a big city. The cost of living is much more affordable than in other parts of the GTA.

Markham is the High-Tech Capital of Canada. It’s the perfect choice for people who work in technology.

Pacific Mall on Steeles Avenue is the largest Asian mall in North America. It’s also the highest concentration of Asian franchises in the West.

Newcomers to the country relocating to Markham will be in good company. 6 out of 10 Markham residents were born outside of Canada. The Markham community has the highest percentage of immigrants in Ontario and the second-highest percentage in Canada.

Blood Tests

All applicants 15 years old or older must complete a blood test before they can immigrate to Markham. This test is to ensure that potentially spreadable diseases are not being carried to Canada. Conditions of concern include HIV, syphilis, and active tuberculosis. You don’t need to fast before your bloodwork.

Urine Tests

Applicants aged 5 or older must complete a urine test. If you’re menstruating, you can still complete your urine test. Like bloodwork, urine tests are simply a way of checking for diseases that could spread to other Canadians. Please drink fluids before your exam so you can provide an adequate urine sample.

Chest X-Rays

All applicants aged 11 or older must complete a chest x-ray. Pregnant applicants have the right to defer the x-ray until after the pregnancy without detriments to their status. Our panel physicians will explain the risks so you can make an informed decision. If you defer, we will explain how to do that.

Record Assessments

We will need to assess your pre-existing medical conditions, eyeglass prescriptions, and any medication that you’re on. Please bring your Medical Report – Client Biodata and Summary IMM1017 and Express Entry Invitation letter if applicable. If you don’t have this paperwork, you may complete an Upfront Medical.

Your appointment will take approximately 1.5 hours. Be prepared to take that much time from your schedule.
